We caught up with one of our legendary pub heroes, Tommy.

Tommy runs The Marquis in Covent Garden, a proper boozer that boasts all the personality you’d expect from a proper geezer; welcoming, fun and relaxed. 

Like us, Tommy loves the classics; he has Only Fools & Horses on repeat, an EPIC range of booze and food, and an actual vinyl record collection (jog on Spotify…)  that’ll have you in sing-song mode sooner than you can shout PARKLIFE.

He has our porky wares flying off his bar, and he’s got his piggin’ favourites. In this video, he gives his views on what it’s like working with Snaffling Pig and how our salty delights help boost his sales. Enjoy.

Hey who are you and what makes your pub so special?

Hi my name’s Tommy McGuiness and I’m the manager at The Marquis in Covent Garden. We’re a family run free-house in the heartbeat of London and we really strive ourselves on being a traditional proper London pub with great local craft sourced beer and we play loads of vinyl as well.

Let’s talk pork, how long have you been serving our awesome flavoured porky snacks?

We’ve been stocking Snaffling Pig at The Marquis now for 4 years and I’ve got to say, my favourite flavour is the Pig of Doom.

How did you discover our swine-based delights?

It’s the branding actually. We first came across Snaffling Pig at Pub Show, we went over to the stall, we got to try all the flavours and that’s where Pig of Doom literally blew our minds.

How has Snaffling Pig been received by your customers?

The packets go down great with all of our punters, they’ve got a couple of good sizes so there is already good variety for them. The Perfectly Salted Pork Crackling is brilliant, the saltiness of them, they are quality. The saltiness mean the customers are going to want to buy another pint, so great for a publican.

So that must help drink sales?

We’re up quite a lot at the moment. We’re a wet let pub and bar snacks are always in a high demand. We pretty much always mention the upsell, “You want a packet of Snaffling Pig?” it works with most pints.  

How is it working with our piggin’ team?

Yeah it’s an absolute doddle, a pleasure actually, it’s like working with your mates. It’s so easy to order from. You can order online, drop them a call. I tend to ping them out an email. Wallop, it’s here the next day

Would you recommend Snaffling Pig?

Yeah, most definitively. It’s a great bar snack. It really compliments our bar and our range. Thanks for coming along to The Marquis and hope to see you again soon
