Product Recall Information

At Snaffling Pig, the safety of our products is of the utmost importance.

The factory (FRESHERS FOODS LTD) that supplies some of our snacks, as well as those of other brands, have informed us that they have found traces of salmonella. The affected products include a range of snacks from the following brands: Openshaw’s, Pub Original, Awfully Posh and Snaffling Pig.

FRESHERS FOODS LTD are therefore taking the precautionary step of recalling other lines due to the risk of salmonella from products that were manufactured in December 2021 only. The affected batches are those listed on the FSA website here, and relate only specifically to those listed with the specific Best Before dates indicated.

Throughout this process, Freshers Foods have been entirely transparent with the relevant local authority. Any reported incident of Salmonella occurred during manufacturing dates in December only. At the end of December, Freshers Foods completed a planned upgrade of their facility in Wigan. This work has been reviewed by the local authority and supported by further product and environmental testing.

No other products or batches are impacted and after subsequent and thorough testing with local authorities and the FSA, subsequent production in January 2022 onwards meets all requirements and are deemed fit for consumption.

What to do

If you have purchased any of these products, please do not eat or sell them. Instead, return them to the store you purchased them from for a full refund. If you purchased through our website either as a private consumer or trade or business customer, please email us photos of the products with the Best Before date clearly visible as well as any order reference numbers or proof of purchase.
