Smoking Wood Chips (1 Litre)
Smoking is cool. We love smoking. We'll smoke anywhere. And here's the top 5 woods we've used to smoke on the Snaffling Pig Bluey Kamado BBQ and we think you need these in your life. Each flavour is supplied in a 1 litre bag.
Need help smoking, no drama, we've pulled together a guide on how it's done. Don't be intimidated, just soak the chips for at least 15 minutes and bung them in. (For how to smoke please click here).
Apple - Apple wood chips have a light, fruity, slightly sweet aroma and is most commonly used with pork and chicken. Mix it with Oak and Cherry for EPIC results.
Beech - A nice mild and a good all-rounder wood.
Cherry - A slightly sweet fruity smoke that is great with chicken, and gives a reddish tint to light-coloured meats. Cherry goes well with beef, pork, and chicken and can be mixed with apples.
Hickory - is the most popular wood we sell and is ideal for pork and ribs. It has a sweet to strong, heavy bacon flavour, but it complements all meats. Some people do find that hickory alone can be overwhelming especially if too much is used, so tend to mix with Oak with 2 parts oak and 1 part hickory.
Oak - goes with just about any meat. It has a medium smoky flavour that is stronger than apple and cherry, but lighter than hickory. As a result, it mixes well with these three woods, but also works great by itself. If you only want one lot, get this one.
